Laser Lipo Aftercare: First 48 Hours & 2-Week Care
By CNS Bodyworks | July 22, 2026
We hear it all the time: “2 days in and I can see and feel a big difference.” The fastest way to protect that early change is simple. Wear your prescribed compression garment continuously for the first 24 to 72 hours and keep the next two days low-key, with gentle movement only. You’re not recovering from surgery, but you are helping your body move fluid out and “set” the shape.

Quick reality check: Laser Lipo and Skin Tightening is non-invasive and comfortable. Most people describe it as warm, tingling, or relaxing. That said, aftercare still matters because swelling, heat, and inconsistent compression can hide results you should be seeing.
First 24 to 48 hours: compression, gentle movement, and no heat
Right after Laser Lipo and Skin Tightening, we generally recommend you treat the first two days like a “reset window.” You can go back to normal activities right away, but you’ll usually see better, faster inch-loss when you keep things steady and simple.
Do this
- Wear compression continuously for the first 24 to 72 hours, then follow the schedule we give you. This helps reduce swelling and supports the contour.
- Take short, gentle walks every few hours. Nothing intense. Just enough to keep circulation moving.
- Hydrate like it’s your job, especially in Fort Worth heat. More water tends to help your body flush what it’s ready to release.
- Keep treated skin clean and dry. If we covered an area, keep that covering in place as directed.
Hold off on this
- Heavy lifting and hard workouts for at least 48 to 72 hours.
- Hot baths, saunas, and heat therapy. Heat can push swelling up and irritate treated skin.
- Swimming and soaking until you’re cleared. Pools and hot tubs are often a 1 to 2 week pause for a reason.
And if you’re driving home or running around Camp Bowie after your session, wear something loose over your garment. Comfort matters. When you’re not fussing with it, you’re more likely to keep it on like you should.
Days 3 to 7: keep the “2-day difference” trending up
A lot of people notice changes quickly. One client told us Laser Lipo was their new favorite thing because they could see and feel a big difference by day two. Week one is where you protect that momentum. Swelling can come and go, so don’t panic if you look a little puffy one day and tighter the next.
Sweat and sun are the big Fort Worth traps
Fort Worth summers are hot and humid, and that combo can irritate treated skin fast. Try to avoid long outdoor workouts, direct sun on the treated area, and anything that keeps you sweaty under compression for hours.
Good rule for week one: If it makes you hot, red, or extra swollen, it can wait.
Showering is usually fine, soaking is not
Showers are usually OK after 24 hours. Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and pat the area dry. Skip scrubs, strong acids, and heavy fragrance on treated skin for the first week. Keep it calm.
Week 2 care: activity ramp-up, compression schedule, and skin support
By week two, most people are back to their normal routine, just smarter about heat and friction. This is also when a lot of our returning clients stay consistent, because they’re seeing shape changes add up session to session.
Compression in week two: You might not need 24/7 wear anymore. Stick to the schedule we set for you, and don’t quit early just because you feel fine. That’s when little pockets of swelling like to hang around.
If you want workouts back
We generally suggest easing in. Start with lower intensity and shorter time, then build. If you swell up a lot after a workout, scale it back for a few days and keep compression consistent.
If you’re planning outdoor time at Benbrook Lake or local events around Westworth Village, River Oaks, White Settlement, Sansom Park, or Ridglea, keep the treated area covered and use broad-spectrum SPF. Sun and heat can cause irritation and darkening on sensitive skin.
Products and habits that keep your inch-loss visible
Laser lipo aftercare doesn’t need a whole cabinet of products. It needs consistency. Here’s what tends to make the biggest difference for our body contouring regulars.
Keep it simple on the skin
- Fragrance-free cleanser in the shower.
- Basic, non-irritating moisturizer if your skin feels dry under compression.
- Broad-spectrum SPF on any area that might see sun.
Habits that support results
- Hydration daily, especially if you’re sweating in Fort Worth heat.
- Balanced meals and steady movement. We’ve seen inch-loss add up when people pair sessions with smart choices.
- Photos and measurements weekly, not daily. Day-to-day swelling can mess with your head.

A quick note on results: when skin tightening looks “final”
It’s normal to see an immediate change and then watch it refine. The inch-loss can show up quickly, but skin tightening tends to look better over time as swelling settles and you stay consistent with compression and smart activity. If your goal is a smoother, more contoured look, your best move is sticking to the plan for the full two weeks, then reassessing with us.
